August 25, 2005 Sergio changes router to netgear and loses phone line..
Sergio computer system.
A. I installed three phone lines which all worked good.
B. I installed a switch hub by linksys which communicated to the first floor which was good.
Now, Internet connection was good and everything working..
Two new computers added to the network which the first one was HP and the second also a HP. Software and hook up was good...
I didn't know to much about sharing the folders on the network and also about printer sharing which I tried to fix the problem...
I was first asked to expand their network which I did and I also had the files and stuff working down stairs which sharing wasn't working...
Sergio's Cousin is called in which we both try to get new hp to communicate to the upstairs computer which is being connected through a hub switch... The new HP computer won't communicate or see the LAN... It does get internet but not the lan. I activated this part of the software and still no connection....
Sergio decides to take out the cisco linksys system and purchase netgear equipment...
I am called three days later which I am unaware of netgear equipment which they said they lost their phone service..
I checked their computer and tried the ping program which there was no phone linke connection.
I also made some phone calls to sbc whcih they said their line are had problems...
O.k.
I just check their settings which I did change the computers to ip address and not dhcp computers... I was thinking since they had an ip they all needed an ip... But, I think they create their own.... That is all I can find the problem is...
Next day, the network is not communicating at all...
I don't go, because I thought everything was o.k....
So, I try next day which I am told they don't need my help...
Yes, I did change some settings but again I don't see myself as responsible...
I did not install netgear which I have no experience with ..
I need more experience with file sharing and printer sharing and netgear...
I just need more training......
I also need to learn more about the internet connection...
Do, your best..
